Workshops and Presentations

KISC outreach staff is available to give an Invasive Species Presentation or Early Detection Workshop to your group, organization, or neighborhood association.

Presentations

We can tailor our presentations to focus on invasive species threats that are local to your area, or that you might see in your line of work. We can also make the focus of our presentations to a specific species of concern to you or your group. To learn more about what invasive species KISC targets, check out our KISC Pest page. These presentations can be made to fit into various agendas and can rage in length from 10 minutes to 2 hours.

Workshops

KISC offers Early Detection Workshops to groups who are interested in learning about how to properly identify specific invasive species we target. These workshops generally run 45 – 60 minutes long and really cater to people who are out in the forests for work or leisure on a regular basis. Each workshop attendee receives a free “Early Detection Field Guide” to utilize and reference when in the forests. To learn more about the Early Detection Workshop click here.

KISC has given presentations and workshops to multiple groups on island, but here is a list of some we have recently been invited to:

  • Neighborhood AssociationsIMG_2364
  • Hawaii Farmers Union
  • Hawaii Farm Bureau
  • Rotary Clubs
  • Conservation groups
  • Seasonal field workers
  • Hikers/Hunters
  • and more!

If you are interested in booking a KISC presentation or workshop, please contact us to schedule a date!
