Aloha and Happy New year!
We are looking forward to the year ahead. although Covid-19 has caused us to cancel much of our outreach events in 2020, we are working on creating new ways to interact with our community virtually. We realize it will be quite some time before we will be able to resume volunteer events therefore we are preparing to move activities online through seminars, more blog posts and keeping you all up to date with a revamped media platform that can serve and engage with our community at a safe distance.
Upcoming events: Hawaii invasive species Awareness month is right around the corner! stay tunes on our Facebook and instagram for updates on virtual events and activities.
Spearheading our virtual shift is our new outreach specialist, Haylin Chock. She recently graduated with a B.A.S in sustainability sciences from University of Hawaii at West Oahu. We are also welcoming a new Head Botanist, Natalia Tangalin. Natialia has worked with other great organizations such as National Tropical Botanical Gardens and has a B.S in Botany from the University of Hawaii at Mānoa.
Welcome to the team Haylin and Natalia!
