Forest Talk: Mosses of the Hawaiian Islands

Join us for Forest Talk, a virtual gathering where we talk story about the plants and animals and connections we have to our native ʻōhiʻa forests.

Join us: Monday, Junly 6, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. HST

Join us for an introduction to the unique and often overlooked world of Hawaiian mosses. We’ll discuss their anatomy, life cycle, and where to look for them across the islands’ diverse landscapes. Our guest presenters will be Tim Flynn and Amanda Vernon with the National Tropical Botanica Garden. Tim and Amanda recently published Common Mosses of the Hawaiian Islands.
