Growing ʻŌhiʻa

Summary

Here are some tips on growing and caring for ʻōhiʻa.

1. keep plant in bright spot with some direct sunlight for a month or two. Your plant can then be moved into full soon.
2. water every couple days, allowing soil to dry between waterings
3. when you see roots coming out of the drain holes at the bottom of the pot, your plant is ready to go into the ground
4. prep soil before out-planting. make sure it is well-tilled and has good drainage. use compost to stimulate microbial activity.
5. water every few days for a year after out-planting
